Emily Reedich presented results from her work with the Manuel lab at the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting in Chicago: “This year, the SfN Annual Meeting drew more than 20,000 attendees,” said Reedich, who also presented a poster with the Ryan Institute’s Quinlan lab. “The breadth of neuroscience research presented at this conference was awe-inspiring!”

Dr. Manuel taught fundamentals of electrophysiology techniques at the 2024 Paris Neuro School, “Optical Imaging and Electrophysiological Recording in Neuroscience.” The annual international event is held at academic and research institutions throughout Paris, France, including Université Paris Descartes, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Brain and Spine Institute, and Pasteur Institute.

The Manuel lab participated in the annual Pawtucket Brain Fair hosted by Brain Waves RI, demonstrating how electromyography (“EMG”) controls a prosthesis. Participants were able to remotely open and close a robotic hand by “thinking” about moving their arm.
The annual Brain Fair draws hundreds of kids and adults to learn about the brain and neuroscience.
