Ryan Institute and RI-INBRE Pilot Award Announced

January 13, 2025

The George and Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience and RI IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (RI-INBRE) recently announced a pilot award of up to $50,000 for the upcoming year.

The joint initiative is intended to support a “collaborative, interdisciplinary, and highly innovative” neuroscience research project at URI, led by a principal investigator in the URI Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program (INP) or Ryan Institute. Each project must have at least one co-PI.

Upon completion of the pilot award, the recipients are expected to submit a multi-year extramural research grant proposal.

“We are excited to join with RI-INBRE in supporting interdisciplinary collaborations at URI,” said Ryan Institute Co-Executive Director John Robinson. “We hope this leads to additional opportunities to work with RI-INBRE to fund early-discovery research.”
