William Renehan, Ph.D.

Associate Director of the George & Anne Ryan Institute for Neuroscience
Research Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology

Bill Renehan studies the impact of environmental and lifestyle factors on neurodegeneration, cognitive decline, and dementia. As it becomes increasingly clear that our risk of developing dementia can be reduced significantly by addressing lifestyle factors such hypertension, obesity, physical inactivity, and diabetes, Renehan is working with a multidisciplinary team of investigators to determine the optimal behavioral strategies to reduce risk of dementia, as well as the cellular and molecular bases for the links between environment, lifestyle, and neurodegeneration.
